Justin Vasquez (@scardiecatvasquez)was new to the horror world when he was invited to a mock seance. It was an immersive horror theater show held in an old house above a North Hollywood record store in Los Angeles, where a man once murdered his family. Before he went, his anthropology professor gave him one warning about spirits, Ouija boards and rituals: they don’t know when you’re only pretending.
The symbols were fake. The ritual was fake. But after the final bow, a woman stopped every guest at the door with a strange parting gift and a vague explanation. Justin took his home. Then his father started asking him the same unsettling question every morning. This is a real paranormal experience, told by the person who lived it. Justin still takes precautions to this day.
